Event:  Materia Magica: The Herbal Roots of Ancient Magic with Ike Baker |

In this immersive (and slightly time-traveling) workshop, we’re diving into the roots of ancient herbal magic—pulling from the traditions of Greece, Egypt, Rome, and the wider Mediterranean. Think ancient grimoires, spellwork, and plant allies that have been doing the work for thousands of years.

We’ll explore powerful historical sources like the Greek Magical Papyri (PGM), Ebers Papyrus, Leiden Papyrus, Kyranides, Dioscorides’ Materia Medica, and Pliny’s Natural History—aka the OG texts—uncovering how our ancestors used herbs for protection, healing, manifestation, and straight-up magic.

Then we get hands-on (because obviously we’re not just here to talk about magic):

• Craft your own herbal amulet for protection or intention
• Learn applications for mugwort oil infusion (hello intuition & dreamwork) 
• Learn the uses of magical ink for spellwork, journaling, or ritual

You’ll leave with your own materia magica, a deeper connection to plant magic, and the realization that… maybe the old ways weren’t lost—just waiting for you to pick them back up.
