Term: Haunting

DEFINITION:

See Ghost.

Hauntings are confined to specific physical spaces and are associated with such experiences as "bad vibes" and uncomfortable feelings, strange and scary sounds, sights of swirling mists, and of deceased people. The phenomena almost always occurs at night when there is no competition for the experience and most often in locations that are rarely disturbed such as abandoned houses and churches, old cemeteries, ancient religious sites, etc. There are claims that haunting experiences fluctuate with the phases of the Moon.
