Fading Crystals

Color of the day:  Lavender
Incense of the day:  Lily

Crystals are beautiful and special, so intentionally letting go of one can be difficult. It can also be hard to let go of bad habits, just in a slightly different way. This spell joins the two in an act of sacrificing something you enjoy for the sake of something better. For this spell you'll need a crystal that fades in sunlight, such as chalcedony, amethyst, or citrine.

Carry the crystal with you while engaging in the habit you want to break, letting it absorb the energy of the behavior. Place the crystal someplace where it will regularly receive direct sunlight, then walk away from it. Some weeks later, check on your crystal. Has it faded? Has your habit decreased?

Remember, the crystal fading is a perfectly natural phenomenon, like the passage of time or the changing color of leaves. It's also natural to decide to let go of something you enjoy for the sake of your health.
