Color of the day: White Incense of the day: Basil The day gets its name from the Norse god Tyr. You may also see his name spelled as Tiw, or Tiu. This day of the week was called Tiwesdaeg by the Anglo-Saxons. Tyr is the Norse god of justice and legal matters. He is associated with the sword and the spear, and he sacrificed his one arm restraining Fenrir the wolf, for the greater good. Tyr, or Tiw, is a good deity to call on for integrity, fair play, and justice. Be warned that if you invoke Tyr in legal matters, such as a court case, you should be absolutely sure that you are the one in the right, or the magic could backfire on you.
Tyr, Tuesday is devoted to
you,
Bring your wisdom and
justice true,
Help me to defend that which
is mine,
Grant me your protection for
all time. |
