Floralia

Color of the day:  Yellow
Incense of the day:  Frankincense

Flora was a Roman goddess of flowers - and sensuality. Some say she may have also been viewed as a goddess of springtime. Her celebration lasted until May 3rd and could be the origin of May Day celebrations that came later. Flora is also rumored to be the original "May Queen" figure.
Floralia was celebrated with decorative flower garlands, plays, games, feasting, drinking, and dancing.
Today, in honor of Flora, decorate with as many flowers as you can find - put them everywhere. You can even dress in a floral pattern, if you'd like. Celebrate this season of abundant flowers and honor the goddess within you. Use this chant for a garden blessing:

"Flowers trained and flowers wild,
Gardens growing lush or mild - exotic or domestic,
Every bloom majestic -
On the world, goddess Flora smiles."
