POSTED UNDER Earth, Summer, Sun, AND MORE

Behold the Lights!

Color of the day:  Brown
Incense of the day:  Sandalwood

Behold the power of light, particularly in deep winter! In summer, light is brilliant and forceful, a penetrating sun-gold that lights and heats the world. But in winter, light seems to appear from the darkness and feels alive and warm, bringing subdued texture as it warms hearts and faces.
Make light an intentional part of your winter magickal workings. Candles placed in Mason jars can be safely set in windows and work perfectly as outdoor luminarias, outlining ritual space, while the same jarred candles can be carried to the ritual area, creating a moving lighted procession. A campfire or hearth fire can be used to open ritual or to toast marshmallows for cakes and ale afterward. And don't neglect strings of lights, which can be strewn indoors as well as out. Use clear lights for illumination and colored lights for specific purposes. Here's to lighting up your magicks!
