Candle Magic

Incense of the day:  Thyme
 
It's always worthwhile to fine-tune our candle magick, which lends itself to a myriad of magickal traditions and situations. Select a candle color and shape that match your intent. Wash your hands and meditate over your purpose, then hold the candle in your hands, allowing it to absorb your energies. If desired, carve words, runes, or sigils into the wax, then dress the candle by anointing it with essential oil. Rub oil from the top of the candle downward if working with banishings or diminishings; rub upward for manifestations and raising energy. Light the candle and intone:

"Candle heat and candle smoke,
Pow'rs of magick I invoke.
Elements four and spirit bright,
Kindled in this golden light."

Enjoy your candle workings. Either allow the candle to burn itself out or snuff the flame with a snuffer. Never blow out a candle flame, as this can disrupt the energy flow.
