Pay the Piper

In Germany, today is Pied Piper Day. Perhaps the Pied Piper's story is enduring because we all sense the power of unpaid debts to wreak havoc in other areas of our lives-not because of external forces punishing us, but because of an internal sense of fairness that may cause leaks in our energy and precipitate less-thandesirable conditions. Instead of letting it get to that point, pay the piper what he's owed. In a journal, brainstorm any literal or figurative areas where you feel indebted. For example, perhaps you never properly thanked someone for a favor, or perhaps you actually owe someone some cash. After brainstorming, choose one way you can move toward paying each debt back today. Even if you can't begin to repay the debt itself-for example, if you've lost contact with the person-pay the karmic debt by giving something similar to a charity or someone in need.
