Celebrating the Fruits of Our Labor

Color of the day:  Brown
Incense of the day:  Ivy

First harvest usually celebrates the ripening and picking of berries and grains. To celebrate, make some fresh berry jam and bread. Or if you are like me, you know all the right stores to pick up a fresh, hot loaf of bread and some freshly made jams.
For this solitary ritual, the meal is some slices of the fresh bread spread with the jam. At this time of harvesting foods, many of us are harvesting success in our jobs, projects, or work, and have much to celebrate in the way of gathering the fruits of our labors. The bread and jam will represent all those good things that have come to us this year, be it the ability to pay our bills or greater success with our projects.
I am not a big fan of leaving human food for wild animals. So sit in a park, open your lunch box, pull out the jam-spread bread, and enjoy the meal in the comfort of nature while contemplating your joys.
Salute Mother Nature, your favorite god or goddess, or the universe for all the little things that have made your life easier.
