LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Mardi Gras

Color of the day:  Maroon
Incense of the day:  Cinnamon

Today is known worldwide as a holiday of decadence and feasting just prior to the Christian period of Lent. We Pagans can also think about these energies and have our own "fat Tuesday" prior to a period of abstinence of some sort. This year, consider what you might be willing to give up-if only to learn what it would be like to give up something important to you. Write down your best idea. Then feast and party, enjoying your indulgences! When you wake in the morning, complete the spell by writing down how long your "fast from ____" will last. Read the paper aloud at your altar in the form of a positive statement ("I will" rather than "I won't"). In the days to come, keep the paper with the written statement at your altar where you can see it, to remind you of your goal.
