Hearth Guardian Divination

Color of the day:  White
Incense of the day:  Thyme

In the Craft I work, it is important to discern the spirit who is responsible for the security and protection of one's hearth. Those of us who leave the hearth-hold regularly find our support in our ancestors or other familiar spirits. However, the house-the home-will gather its own unique spiritual potency, and this is the spirit of the hearth. When we move into a new home, we often cleanse, clear, and purify the dwelling and build altars and shrines to our own spirits and gods. Who is the hearth guardian?

Light a candle in what you feel is the natural center of your home. This is where you feel the life force pooling the most. Enter a state of meditation, and with your eyes in a resting state, gaze into the center of the flame.Remember to allow yourself to blink.Hold this question:

"Who is the hearth guardian here?"

You will gain insight as you scry.
