Domestic Blessings

Color of the day:  Rose
Incense of the day:  Rose

Friday is ruled by Venus (the Norse Frigg or Freya). Before she was conflated with Aphrodite, the Great Creatrix, the Roman Venus was a more modest domestic goddess. Among her charges were conjugal love and herb gardens, but not wildness or overgrowth in either. In fact, when Medieval painters painted the Virgin Mary, they put her in a house or garden (Venus was safe) because going out into the wilderness was considered dangerous (Aphrodite was scary).

Thank Venus for the love and domesticity in your life. Consider your partner, children, parents, grandparents, and even furry friends. Domesticity can include a clean place to live and the wherewithal to buy food and furniture. Make a list of what you love, then say:

"Blessed Venus, thank you for the love
that is always present in my life. Please
teach me how to cultivate that love so
that it and I are always fed."
