Hot Wax Divination

Color of the day:  Yellow
Incense of the day:  Frankincense

This simple divination technique originated in Eastern Europe. It's easy to use. You'll need a new white candle, some olive oil, and a dark-colored bowl or cauldron filled with water.

First, using a drop of olive oil, "dress" your candle. To do this, rub a bit of olive oil between your hands, then rub the candle. Begin in the center and rub toward the wick. Next, start in the center and rub toward the bottom of the candle. Your candle is ready.

Think of a question you want answered. Light the candle. Tilt the candle so three drops of wax drop into the bowl/cauldron filled with water. Snuff out the candle. When the drops of wax harden, "read" their shapes to answer your question. Interpret them as best you can. You'll get better at it the more you do this. The candle may be used again for magic.
