If you must travel by water, use this rhyme to evoke the protective spirits:
I must travel to far-off shore.
My head is willing, my heart is pure.
With this spell I cast upon a star,
To the ear of spirits both near and far.
I scatter these petals on the water
To bless my travels as I wander.
Now I make a starry sign
That my journey may be benign.
Sprites and spirits, I call their names,
I ask safe sailing and weather tame.
Upon my face the wind will kiss,
And spirits watch me through the mist.
Spirits come, and abide with me,
And keep me safe as I cross this sea.
