Ancestral Magic

Color of the day:  Purple
Incense of the day:  Carnation

March is Women’s History Month, a good time to perform ancestral magic. Envision the women of your lineage: your mother, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and beyond; your cousins, aunts, and great-aunts. Maybe you have photos of them you can place on your altar, or things of theirs, such as jewelry or dishes. As you look at them, invoke the resilience of these strong women who survived, thrived, and had children. Their strength and resilience are written in your DNA. Envision a strand of light connecting you to them. Inhale strength and resilience, then exhale healing back along the ancestral line. Incant:

I call on the brave women of my lineage
to bless me with strength, resilience,
wisdom, and joy. Let the good lives
of these women live in me always.
May I know the collected wisdom of
my foremothers and be held in their
tender care, and may I heal all genetic
wounds I carry. So mote it be.
