Travel Button Altar

Color of the day:  Topaz
Incense of the day:  Lilac

Buttons have always felt magical to me. I loved sorting through my grandmother’s button tin as a child, and every button jar I see at a yard sale feels like a vessel of buried treasure. If you think about it, the job of a button is to hold things together, so you can work sympathetic magic with them in that way. They can also resemble hag or witch stones when they have holes through their center, giving protection and aiding in divination. They make a terrific travel altar if you sew them onto a handkerchief or similar small piece of fabric.

Consider the following correlations:
* A white, clear, or yellow button for the element of air
* A red or orange or glass button for the element of fire
* A blue button or one made out of shell for the element of water
* A green or wooden button for the element of earth
* A silver or gold button for spirit
