Sacred Smoke

Color of the day:  Amber
Incense of the day:  Marigold

Burning incense is a great way to tap into the power of the air element, and making a homemade batch allows you to connect with this energy on a deeper level.

You’ll need:
* 2 tablespoons sandalwood powder
* 1 teaspoon frankincense resin (can be purchased in powder form or ground by hand with a mortar and pestle)
* ¼ teaspoon guar gum
* Water

Combine the first three ingredients in a small bowl, then add a teaspoon of water at a time, mixing thoroughly. I typically use just shy of 3 teaspoons. Pinch off small chunks of dough and shape them into little cones with your fingers. Let dry completely (this can take up to a week).

Hover your palms above the incense as you chant:

I call upon the power of air!
Please charge this incense with the
energy of change, clarity, and wisdom.
So mote it be!
