POSTED UNDER Earth, Water

Honor the Land Spirits

Color of the day:  Silver
Incense of the day:  Hyssop

While today is Earth Day, which brings attention to environmental issues on a global scale for one day, as Witches, it is vital that we be stewards of the land on a daily basis. We are a part of Earth, not separate from it. We can all tend to the spirits of the land around us, regardless of whether we’re in a city, in the suburbs, or out in the woods. While we can make offerings to the land, such as gifts of water and native seeds, one of the best things we can do as human beings is gather and remove trash. This gesture may not seem like an offering, but it is an act of service and an offering of our time.

One easy way to do this regularly is when you go on walks and hikes, always bring a compact reusable bag to collect items that can be recycled, as well as a disposable bag for trash that cannot. I guarantee the land spirits will appreciate your efforts, as will the plants, animals, and other visitors.
