POSTED UNDER Friends, Peace

When It’s Time to Move On

Color of the day:  Maroon
Incense of the day:  Geranium

Yes, it happens: jealousy and witch wars arise in our Neo-Pagan communities. When people just can't get along anymore, it's time to move on, to find a new organization or coven where it's peaceful. In Shakespeare's As You Like It, the exiled Duke Senior finds peace in the Forest of Arden.

Go outside, find a shady spot, wrap yourself in protective energy, and declare your intention to find your own Forest of Arden where you can restore friendships and spirituality to your life. Contemplate this speech (excerpted) by Duke Senior:
Hath not old custom made
this life more sweet
Than that of painted pomp?
Are not these woods
More free from peril than
the envious court?
[…]
And this our life exempt
from public haunt
Finds tongues in trees, books
in the running brooks, Sermons in stones and
good in every thing.
I would not change it.

Visit meetings and rituals. Revive old friendships. Make new friends. Don't gossip! Contribute meaningfully to your new community.
