A Spring House Cleansing

Color of the day:  Purple
Incense of the day:  Clove

Why is it that the coming of spring awakens in us the urge to clean and freshen our life spaces? Through cleansing, we sweep away winter's detritus and open ourselves to a purified sacred space and fresh inspiration. Select a broom, a small bowl, salt, and loose lavender petals. Mix salt and water in the bowl. Move sunwise (clockwise) through your dwelling, sweeping each space with your broom and sweeping toward the main door. As you sweep, envision negativity and past misfortunes being swept out of your home. Take the bowl of salt water and again move sunwise through your home, casting salt water drops in each room and at each door, saying:

This room is clean. Let no harm
enter this space. So mote it be.

Lastly, go outside and move sunwise around the boundaries of your property, sprinkling lavender blossoms and repeating:

I cleanse these bounds and set them safe. All harm will vanish with no trace.
