LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Divination at the Crossroads

Color of the day:  Silver
Incense of the day:  Hyssop

This is a rite for enhancing your divinations by using the power of the crossroads. You will need:

  • 1 part dill seeds
  • 1 part fennel seeds
  • 1 part juniper berries or eastern red cedar (Juniperus virginiana)
  • 1 part rosemary leaves, dried
  • Mortar and pestle
  • A divination tool, whichever you choose
  • Incense charcoal and burner
  • Matches or lighter

Prepare your incense mixture by lightly crushing the plant ingredients together in a mortar and pestle. Take this mixture, along with your divination tool and incense burner, to a fourway crossroads. Light the charcoal and add some of the incense mixture. Say these words while facing east:

I turn, I turn, I turn at the crossroads.

Turn clockwise, ending facing east again. Then say:

At the crossroads, turn I, turn I, turn I.

Then turn counterclockwise, ending facing east again. Say:

May the truth be revealed. May all haters of the truth be turned away.

You may now begin your divination. Burn more of the incense throughout the session.
