Working with the Rainy Season

Color of the day:  Purple
Incense of the day:  Clove

April is part of the rainy season and thus a good time for water magic. Pay attention to when the rain falls, and give thanks for it. Observe where it goes, how it flows, where it pools or soaks into the ground. See how leaves and twigs follow the flowing water, how the plants soak it up.

You can celebrate rain and the element of water in many ways. Put out a birdbath to catch the rain. Plant a rain garden in a soggy part of your yard. Use rain chains to channel water rolling off a shed or other structure that doesn't have gutters. Get a rainy statue, like a frog with an umbrella, and put it outside on rainy days to charge for later use. Say over it:

Rainy day, come and stay,
Let your magic flow my way.
Water clear, water strong,
Charge this statue with your song.

At the end of the month, store the charged statue. When you need a rain spell, bring the statue out to use as a focus.
