Dowsing Concepts

Psychic empathy with the natural world enabling the practitioner to locate water, ores, petroleum, ley lines, etc., usually aided by a device such as a forked stick, pendulum or a modified set of coat hangers which will strongly respond in the dowser’s hands when walking over the physical location. Some dowers work with a pendulum and a large-scale map and obtain equally valid results. The practice of dowsing provides valuable development of psychic sensitivities and subconscious awareness and communication.

Many operators using pendulums and dowsing rods use “specimen samples” held in one hand or incorporated into compartments on the pendulum bob or handle area of a dowsing rod. The sample is of the material objective to the outer physical dowsing work – water, oil, gold, nickel, etc. – and functions as a focus for the inner psychic, part of the operation. Other operators simply keep the objective in mind during the mechanical process with either pendulum or dowsing rod.

Dowsing, combined with pendulum working, has become a useful technique in forensic work and in health diagnosis. See also “Pendulum.”
