Term: A Year and a Day

DEFINITION:
A length of time often used in Wiccan traditions. For example, a person may dedicate himself or herself to studying with a coven for this period. Some handfastings last for this period. It may be based on English law which states that if you harm someone, but they do not die from that action for a year and a day, you are not responsible for their death.
