Incense of the day: Cedar

Today is traditionally a Buddhist water festival. Statues of the Buddha are cleansed and the water is thrown on the faithful to wash away the evil spirits that attach to a person. You can perform this ritual with a statue of the Buddha, or you can bathe any god or goddess statues you hold sacred. At twilight, add the water you used to cleanse your statues to your bath water. Bathe by the light of a new blue candle, and ask the divine for blessings. Like Wiccans, Buddhists believe in the sacredness of all life. By leaving food for the birds or wild animals in your neighborhood, you ensure that you receive blessings in turn.
