Spell: Boy’s Day Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Purple
Incense of the day: Vanilla

On this day, the Japanese celebrate their boy children. They have two rituals that bring the family good health and good luck to the boys. The first is to prepare a bath with iris leaves to make the boys both healthy and courageous. The second ritual is to hang a wind sock in the shape of a strong, determined carp outside their door. Hang one sock for each boy, the largest going to the eldest. Burn a red candle for Kwan Yin, and say:

Kwan Yin,
Goddess of compassion.
Thank you for the blessings you have bestowed upon my family.
Thank you for the good health and happiness we have enjoyed.
Please continue to watch over us.
Blessed be.
