Color of the day: Maroon
Incense of the day: Frankincense This is a day of festivals and fun before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Also known as Shrove Tuesday, it is a day of confession. To observe this day, burn a light sweet copal incense and announce what you wish to change in your life. Decorate your altar with colorful cloth, ribbons, beads, or glitter. If you wish, invite friends in and let them wear masks or other finery. Serve wine and appetizers. As the day winds down and after guests have left, run a bath. Sprinkle the water with sea salt. Bathe as usual, allowing the bath to serve as a form of spiritual cleansing. Spend the days leading up to Ostara performing good works and clearing away the spiritual clutter in your life. |
