Spell: House Protection Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: White
Incense of the day: Carnation

There are numerous protection spells and charms cast between the days of the summer solstice (around June 21) and St. John's Day (June 24). Using the powers of fire, cast this spell to protect your home from negative energies. Burn thirteen yarrow stalks in your fireplace. When the yarrow has burned down to ash, trace a Star of Solomon with your athame. The Star of Solomon is the six-pointed star made from two triangles that represent harmony. Alternatively, you could make a solar wheel from a willow branch. Divide the wheel with an equal-armed solar cross made of twisted ribbon, cord, or twigs. In the center of the cross attach a small red bag filled with the nine herbs of the "Witches' Charm": mugwort, plantain, watercress, cock-spur grass, chamomile, stinging nettle, apple, thyme, and fennel. Adorn the solar wheel with a sprig of Saint-John's wort and hang it over your front door.
