Spell: Protection Blessing for an Expectant Mother

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Lavender
Incense of the day: Sage

Today is the Festival for Expectant Mothers. Use this auspicious day to prepare a special Witches' Ladder for a mother-to-be. Use a red cord the height of the mother. Knot the cord nine times, inserting one of the following charms into each knot: carnelian, amber, coral, rose quartz, a sprig of lavender, a sprig of chamomile, apple seeds, a charm in the shape of a heart, and a charm in the shape of a baby. As you make each knot say:

Bona Dea, make her strong,
Bona Dea, keep her safe.
An easy delivery,
A healthy child.
Bless this mother and her baby.
When each knot is tied, kiss the knot and go to the next one. When you are finished with the ladder, pass it through the smoke from a fire made of motherwort.
