Spell: A Hero's Welcome

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

When problems become too large to cope with, we are left with no other option than to look for external help. Calling to an ambiguous GOD alone may not be enough. In the Old World, our Pagan myths were designed to give us guidance and support whenever we heard them retold. Even today, we can turn to the comfort of our oral traditions.
Welcoming a hero into your life is symbolic of being granted help that is much needed, and earnestly asked for. Today, discover the type of heroic energy missing in your life by employing traditional hero-gods from a timeless epic of Western culture, Homer's Iliad.
Write out or print the mythic stories for Hercules, Achilles, Odysseus, David, and Aries/Mars. Use thick fancy parchment paper. Be sure to include images of them, information about the weapons they were skilled at using, and the overarching moral of their character. Roll up each parchment, affix a red wax seal, and bind the scroll in rustcolored ribbon. Place all five into a hat that you wear.
Like all quests for insight, salvation, or redemption, a wondrous act must be performed for the answer you seek to be revealed. Complete one very large act of kindness today. At the end of the day, draw the hero who is most needed in your life from your hat. Apply his myth to your own life by learning to master the skills, morals, and themes of our ancient Pagan heroes.
