Spell: Ancestor Altar

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

This day marks the victory of the Mexican army over the invading French, but for some reason the holiday is more widely celebrated in the United States than in Mexico. This would be a good day to reflect upon your cultural heritage. Do you know who your ancestors are? If you have any photos, letters, or other mementos, create an altar to display them and remember the people who are part of your identity. Think of the cultural struggles they endured. Did they come to the United States to escape poverty or persecution? Place some of the foods loved by your ancestors on your altar; maybe today you can prepare one of these dishes. Ancestor magic is very potent. It can help us feel connected to the deepest core of our being: the blood of those who came before us and who live in us. Keep this altar going, and add to it as you learn more about your ancestors.
