The image of the scales of justice (the symbol of Libra) is fitting for this day, since the sun will enter that sign tomorrow at the autumnal equinox. You may choose to participate in a demonstration or perhaps take part in a quieter, more personal ritual today.
This calendar date is also traditional for performing divination in old Europe. One German tradition describes young girls making fortunetelling wreaths out of straw and evergreen to mark the midpoint between summer and winter. This middle season is a potent time for reflection. Surrounded by beauty and abundant growth, we prepare for the darker days ahead by harvesting abundance and deciding what will nurture us going forward.
