LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Loosen the Tongue Truth Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

I am a Witch who tries to be kind, open, and honest with everyone I meet. I especially do not like it when my world is sullied by the residue of lies. To loosen tongues and get to the truth of the matter, try this spell.

You will need:

  • 2 scraps of red cloth (cut to resemble a tongue)
  • A needle and blue thread (truth and wisdom)
  • Crumbled oak leaves (truth)
  • Scissors

Loosely stitch together the scrap material, leaving one side open. Fill with oak leaves, then stitch up the opening. (If oak leaves are not available, you could use alder or violets instead.) Optional: Write the name of the person who is lying on your "tongue" poppet. Now use scissors to carefully cut the stitches and reveal the truth. As you do this, say:

Loosen the tongue and reveal the

truth. The lies that are told are

so uncouth. As I cut away each

and every stitch, the truth will

find this powerful Witch.
