Spell: DIY Power Candles

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Use this simple (and fun!) technique to empower your plain candles with magical oomph. You'll need 2 wax pillar or taper candles. (You might want to use one candle first, for practice. For health reasons, choose safe waxes like soy, beeswax, or other non-petroleum-based candles.) You'll also need a small pointy tool (such as a kitchen skewer), fine point permanent markers of the desired color, and paper towels.

Have a purpose in mind: perhaps you'll inscribe the candle with symbols, sacred numbers, words for a spell, magical correspondences, or something else. Know this before beginning.

Use the sharp tool to "write on" or inscribe the candle, creating marks wide and deep enough for the pens to penetrate. Once done, use the pens to fill the carved areas with ink, wiping away any excess with the paper towel. Dry for an hour before using.

Enjoy the process, and enjoy using your empowered candles for spells and rituals!
