

While it doesn't actually kill germs, citric acid is naturally antiseptic and antibacterial. Plus, it has a wonderful smell! For general cleansing, dilute two tablespoons of lemon juice with one cup of water (hot, if possible). Mix in a spray bottle and use on glass, countertops (except natural stone), plastic containers, sinks, and appliances, or just to freshen the air. (Some items, such as stone and certain metals, should not be cleansed with lemon juice. Lemon juice can also bleach fabric, so use caution.)
