In ancient Egypt, festivals were held in the name of the goddess Isis Sothis, or "Isis of Sirius." The Sirius star system is also considered sacred to other gods in the Egyptian ennead, including Osiris and Horus. This has caused modern UFO enthusiasts to postulate that the Egyptian trinity were at one time living beings, possibly from another planet.
