Spell: Protect and Serve Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Gold
Incense of the day: Cinnamon

The Jewish observance of Passover commemorates the exemption of the Jewish people from the killing hand of the angel of death (who took the lives of the first-born of their enemies). This year the day falls on the night of a Full Moon eclipse. The theme today is one of keeping hidden and safe. Place a spell of protection around you, your home and family today. You will need a bowl of lightly salted water, some rosemary, and a protective incense such as frankincense, pine, or cinnamon. All these items should be handled so they absorb your will. If possible, allow all others in the household to add their energies by handling the catalysts also. Begin your spell outside. Using your fingertips, scatter small drops of water against the base of the house. If your house has an unfinished basement, toss a little of the salt water there too. As you move clockwise around the house chant softly: "We are protected well, all who in here dwell." Back inside, take the incense from room to room, still chanting. When you feel the incense has purged every part of your home, take the empowered herb and walk it through your house. Then go outside and walk three times clockwise around the building. On the third time around, sprinkle bits of the herbs to create a circle of protection. As soon as you're back inside, go to each window and door (even doors that don't lead outside), and mentally impress a symbol of protection on it.

Herbs from Mother Earth
do spring,
This gift we borrow so
we can sing,
Feeling secure and safe in
her arms,
Keeping her children free
from harm.
