Incense of the day: Pine It's the dark period of the Moon now, just before the New Moon-a period that is sometimes called "the black Moon." Ironically, this is also the day of the Greek Crone goddess, Hecate. Like the Crone, the Moon maintains a low profile, but her power cannot be underestimated. In this phase, the Moon represents the crone, a symbol of hidden power waiting to be released. Many Wiccans don't perform manifestation spells in the dark Moon period. This is a time for reflection, planning, and wisdom-seeking instead of action. It's an ideal time to plant a seed for a project without taking any action. Keep the action for the waxing phase of the moon. While contemplating your plan, say these words: Goddess of darkness, In your sky without light, Withhold the very manifestation Of plans made tonight. |
