| On this day in 1825, the Erie Canal opened, connecting the Hudson River to Lake Erie. In a busy life, it's difficult for us to remain connected body, mind, and spirit.
To reestablish a connection to our spiritual comfort, bring together a blanket, a pillow, and sandalwood incense. Light the incense and lie down, covering yourself with the blanket. As the grounding power of the scent fills you, go into a deep relaxed state. In your mind's eye, see your body surrounded with beautiful colors. From your head, see clear light shine out and combine with the colors surrounding you. From your heart, see a wonderful green color come out and combine with these colors. Feel all those energies combine in an ecstatic dance and feel the energy of your combined self. As you relax, feel that energy merge in your body. Rest with that connection until it is time to return to the here and now. |
