| Today we honor the birth of Galileo Galilei, born in Pisa, Italy, in 1564. Known for proving Copernicus' heliocentric theories of the Earth revolving around the Sun, Galileo was imprisoned and then shunned for what were regarded as dangerously heretical theories. Despite this, he clung with fortitude to his theories, becoming famous for his words, euppur si muove, "Nonetheless it [the Earth] does move."
Are you looking for fortitude? Are you having trouble sticking to a plan or decision, or kicking a habit? Call upon the wisdom and strength of Galileo! Create a round talisman: a round stone, piece of cardboard, wood cookie, etc. Paint it yellow and inscribe with concentric circles and a central dot for the Sun. On the other side, draw or carve the rune Uruz ( u ) for belief and forbearance. Charge the talisman under Galileo's Sun and keep it with you at all times until your plans reach fruition. |
