Everyone has a favorite cookie, or keokje, and this is the time of year for cookie baking, according to numerous belief systems. The opportunities to celebrate this day can be as simple as buying slice-and-bake cookies from the supermarket, or as elaborate as taking several days to bake dozens of cookies for gifts.
Somewhere in between those two options is the cookie swap. Invite your coven or group for an informal gathering-the only clause being that each person must bring at least two-and-a-half dozen cookies and several seasonal bags or tins, and each person must leave with no less than two dozen cookies. Storebought cookies are fine. After the swap, bless the food and people with a short spell like the one below, and sample some of the "cakes" along with the "ale" of your choice.
