Spell: Honor Thy Parents

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

The tradition of Saint Lucia's Day, celebrated in Sweden, is that the firstborn daughter wears pure white and a crown of candles, and serves her parents breakfast in bed. Today, let's all do a spell that honors our parents. Get pictures of your parents, together or apart. Set them on your altar. Regardless of your relationship with them, think about all the good things these people gave you, because cultivating gratitude for them is the highest honor. Even if you had a tough time with them, think about the strength and resilience you developed and how it has benefited you in life. Look at them lovingly. Take a deep breath, mustering as much gratitude as you can, and say:

"For all you gave me, and all I received,
For all you taught me, and all I
believed,
For all your love from which I was
conceived,
Thank you, blessed be."
