Spell: Persephone's Love

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

In the stories of Persephone, we hear of abduction and return. We read about how Demeter, Zeus, and Hades feel about and react to her. Persephone is the Sovereign Queen of the Dead and the Underworld. In my experience as her priest in this world, she is an agent of mysterious power and deep love. She chooses to pluck a strange blossom because she is curious, she desires, she dares. What of the perilous quest for love?

Take a pomegranate and hold it in your hands while in a meditative or entranced state. Project your awareness into the pomegranate. Feel its many seeds and its chambers, its hard exterior and its soft, yielding within. Know that when you burst open this fruit, you are committing to the dare of love in its infinite manifestations. This is one of the greatest risks, this dare of love. Be aware.
