Spell: Tea in the Garden

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Once you've had your morning tea (or coffee), don't dispose of the dregs. They're very useful in the garden. Coffee grounds hold plenty of nutrients for acid-loving plants such as rhododendrons and blueberries. Add some grounds and tea leaves to your compost pile to encourage the worms to come and aerate it. Leaves from herbal tea as well as black tea can be used in the same manner.

Many herbal teas can double as plant food, too. Break open herbal tea bags after they've been used, and scatter the leaves around the base of plants to feed the soil. Chamomile tea is an excellent protector against fungus. Teas can also be made from substances that you wouldn't want to ingest, such as fish guts or rabbit poop! Unappetizing to you, yes, but your garden will thank you for it!
