Spell: Flower Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today is Beltane, the celebration of the Great Rite between the God and Goddess. This potted plant craft is inspired by the red and white ribbons of the traditional maypole, and the fertility of this sabbat day is represented by planting a flower.

You will need some red and white tissue paper cut into strips, some flower seeds of your choice, a flowerpot filled with dirt, colorful crayons, and some clear-drying craft glue.

Write blessings or inspirational quotes or draw symbols on the strips of paper with the crayons according to what situations you would like to see grow and take form in your life. Then glue the strips onto the flowerpot in patterns or stripes. When the glue is dry, add the soil to the pot. The soil represents the Goddess and the seeds represent the God. As you press the seeds into the earth, contemplate the union of God and Goddess, the power of creation. Cover the seeds with soil, water regularly, and see what grows!
