Spell: Purification and Protection, to Taste

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Salt and pepper are staple kitchen items, which only adds to their magical usefulness. Both salt and black pepper are magically related to cleansing, banishing, purification, and protection. These two seasonings can be charged with power and then used on food to energize it with magic. To begin, gather a container of salt and a container of pepper along with a black or white candle. Place the candle in the center of a flat surface, then the pepper to the left of the candle and the salt to the right. Light the candle, grasp the salt in your right hand and the pepper in your left, and envision pure white light pouring from your hands into the seasonings as you say:

Pepper and salt, charged and

cleansed, all hindrances now cast

away; whenever consumed, your

power will lend protection from

harm, keeping evil at bay.

Extinguish the candle and use the salt and pepper as usual.
