Spell: Protect Your Creative Energy

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Your creative energy requires differing levels of protection as you progress through a project. When the initial idea sparks, perhaps you remain more open as you take in a range of possibilities, but then you might shut out the peanut gallery so you’re not distracted by everyone else’s opinions of what you “should” do.

Select a container with a lid, such as a cauldron, jar, or box. Name your project on a piece of paper and place it inside. Imagine the container glowing with divine light, dissolving anything that does not serve. This light forms a filter that protects your project at all times, and you can adjust how much energy is allowed in or out with the lid. For instance, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the number of tasks remaining, close the lid a bit (or all the way) so you can focus on what’s in front of you. Or if motivation is flagging, open the jar to reconnect with how this project will live in the world, powering you to the finish line.
