It is high summer. The haste of spring growth and planting is over. Flowers are blooming and vegetables approach maturity. This is a relaxation ritual that encourages you to come and sit a spell. Take a break and enjoy some quiet time on a summer day. If possible, perform this ritual outside in a favorite spot. If you don't have a porch, deck, patio, terrace, or yard, try a park bench or drive to a lake or wooded area. The only items you need are a cold drink and a good book (optional). You don't need your phone.

When you arrive at your spot, ground and center. Feel a connection to the earth, even if you're sitting on a high-rise terrace. Exhale and release all stagnant energy. Do this more than once if you need to. Become aware of your surroundings—the sun, the breeze, the shade, birds singing, and so on. Get comfy. Open that book you've been wanting to read, or you may just want to close your eyes. Do this for as long as you wish. When ready, return to your daily routine. Do this spell again later in the season. Summer only lasts so long.
