Voodoo queen Marie Laveau was often seen kneeling on the steps of St. Louis Cathedral in prayer with chili peppers in her mouth in order to find help in casting a particularly difficult spell. To make your own sacrifice in exchange for some helpful magic, take an object that you own. (The more precious to you, the better.) Bury or conceal it in your yard or near your front door. With broom or stick, circle the area and repeat these words: With this broom I do make, a blessed circle around my living space. No one can curse, vex or hate, the souls within this sacred place. Spread loose chili pepper on the entrances to your home. Anyone who is not a true friend and tracks over the chili pepper spices will not return to your house. |
