Color of the day: Topaz
Incense of the day: Sandalwood

Hanukkah is an eight-day celebration of religious freedom. It commemorates the victory of the Jewish people over a foreign king that attempted to force them to worship according to his religion. After the Jews restored their own temple, they found only one jug of oil for the holy lamp. The jug should have lasted only one day, but miraculously it lasted for eight. On this day, light a special candle in a place of honor in your home. Reflect upon the religion you practice, and be thankful that you are free to do so. Give thanks to all those who made this freedom possible. Consider how you can spread tolerance for all religions and contribute to world harmony.
